Hi all. Ive got a question about a series 2 my dad just picked up. And wanted to know how I could tell which model it was.

First it is a series 2, dont know year, and havent checked the door. But it has a metal sunroof, leather seats, vinil headliner, GSL badges, power windows and rear drums.
The guy that gave it to my dad said it had the lsd rear. From my understanding lsd only came with rear disks and GSLs also only came with rear disks.
What do you guys think?

well, these cars are old ..and have probably gone through a few owners....so there might have been some changes by previous owners...

but, double check to see if it is an actual LSD rearend...jack the rear end of the car up, turn one wheel by hand....

if the other one turns the same direction..its lsd

or...park car with one wheel on grass and one on pavement...launch car..if pavement wheel leaves patch...you have lsd.....

if it appears you dont have lsd, then its either 1 of 2 things...

a. the lsd is dead....
or b. someone swapped rearends...hence no disk b rakes
