hey,
a guy at work has a first gen, and when downshifting to third and giving it some gas, all the idiot lights came on. the car still runs fine, but the lights won't go away. any idea what this could be?? the car still start too. thanks in advance

 

I d probally have to call it in this order:

1) bad alt belt (no belt)
2) bad alternator
3) bad choke and check relay
4) bad wiring

 

Happened to me when the alternator belt broke.
