Secondary Scare !!!

My secondaries got stuck WIDE open cruisin the highway today. I kicked it down to fourth to run around a guy in the other lane and when I went back into 5th the 7 screamed and grabbed and off she went like a rocket. Faster than I could ever get it to go with my foot. Scared the **** outta me cuz I had another car in front of me. Wish she could do that on command though. Hopefully I didn't hurt anythin reving that high. Kicked the gas a few times to get em unstuck. Then I tried to get it stuck and it worked. I checked the linkage and everyhting is okay but it looks like the spring that wraps on the rod outta the base of the carb may be screwed up. Just came in to grab a bite to eat and headed back out to fix it. I am thinking maybe putting a spring on the other side to pull it back a little harder. Any suggestions guys ( and gals )

I was just thinking maybe you should wiggle it a bit to get it loose then take your secondary vaccum pod off and use mechanical secondaries instead. Thats the only advice i can think of.

I have the mechanical secondary setup but not the nikki carb. I have the racing beat setup with the Holley carb. Figurred it out though, just a little gummed up. A little cleaner and she is fine, Running excellent. Thanks though !

****. Try having the throttle stick wide open on a road course. Lift for a turn, but the pedal doesn't. I just turned off the key, and coasted off the track.
Turns out, someone had bent several pieces of the linkage, and put it on incorrectly. The factory carb manual shows the exploded view of the linkage, and states "Do NOT remove". Since someone else did not pay any attention to it, I had to ignore the warning too.

The good part about this whole ordeal, my cruise now works perfectly. I also can assemble the linkage on an FB in my sleep. Not that I want to.............................
As for finding the carb manual, read the FAQ's. It tells you that the manual is available at iluvmyrx7.com under 1st gen manuals.

Then i wouldnt have a choke and i damn well need it for where i live. How does it work? Does it just mount where that other slot is in the accel cable mounts? I think i might be able to do it with a choke cable from my honda.
