Seats

My son has hit 6' 4" and can only fit in his project 85 FB if the seat is all the way back and significantly reclined. Other than going to a race seat, is there anything I can do? I am guessing that all the seats were the same height from all years.

Maybe remove some of the headliner if it has shitty interior, and get a bucket seat. That is why I'm glad I'm 5-7 LOL. All seats are pretty much the same, uggh I couldn't imagine being 6-4 in an FB.

+1 on the FC seats, I'm 6'6" and when I had my headliner in I had just enough room to keep the seat at a reasonable angle, though I am currently looking into a Kirkey Racing Seat simply to go as low as possibly and for better leg room.

the cloth seats are a tad lower than the leather, if you have.

FC seats are a little lower too.

i had a recaro in my old one and loved it, it added a couple inches of headroom

The velour centered/vinyl bolster seats out of early base model cars sit lower. otherwise, however, they have next to no side bolstering. Also the sunroof eats up alot of head room. You didn't mention if the car had one.

looks like you need some fc tII seats. they will give you a little more room and bolt in.
if you go aftermarket you will need to fab some mounts.

The SA seats or the TII seats would be your best option, as far as OEM seats go. As for after market seats, make sure they have custom made driver's and passenger's side seat rails to match the car.
