Is this SE worth $1100... lots of pix

Sorry if these pix take forever to load....
I posted about this car already but now have seen it.

'84 GSL-SE
116,500 miles
glass sunroof, metal sunroof gone
interior is in PRISTINE condition

problems...

lots of rust as you can all see in the pix... rust under the cubby holes too, thanks to all who advised me to check there...

very loud clunking noise in the rear suspension on any type of bumps big and small...

engine seems to have compression but idles very high around 1700 revs and is not very smooth at idle, kind of does a bum bum... bum bum like a heartbeat or something... anyway my FC never did that...

needs new clutch but what else is new...

All in all it looks great on the outside and inside except for the rust of course but the paint is in otherwise great condition. but i feel there are probably way too many problems hiding underneath that need to be fixed.

What do you all think for $1,100 though?

It looks pretty straight, but watch that oxidization!!!

Creeping rust kills speeding lust.

did you check for any frame rust? that woudl be a for sure sign to not buy it.
my first first gen had not much exterior rust, but i never looked underneath, and saw that at any point, the frame would be able to just rust apart even while driving.
so i sold it asap.. now i have one with no rust

Last one... i took lots of pix of the rust, everything else visually on the car was really really nice. The rust also was very visible on the inside of the door on the bottom edge, and it was very bad, just flaking off. I really dont think i can bring myself to get this car with all the rust unless someone thinks it's just an absolute steal, maybe to part out even... the interior, glass roof, etc.

Oh yeah, just in case anyone is interested in the car for themselves...

Paint code V3 matches, definitely original paint, I can't see that this car has ever been in an accident.

Hey, whats that silver canister between the oil filler neck and the oil filter? I don't have one of those on mine. Did someone paint the whole top of the engine silver?? That rust is a killer though. If I had the money I would py $900 and part it out on eBay and the board here and probably make a profit being the interior is in good shape and the tires/wheels look good as well. At least you'd be helping fellow enthusiasts out like myself, who can always use spare parts On the other hand, the mileage is fairly low for 17 years and it is that beautiful blue, if you know a trustworthy body shop that does good work and you are willing to fork out the $$$$$ to repair and repaint it may be worth it to you.
I wouldn't be surprised if the rough idle went away with a good tune up and some inspections for leaking vacuum hoses.

I'd pass, I made the mistake of getting a rusted FB once before and I will never do it again. It's worth it to just pay the price of a nice non rusted one trust me. How come you didn't show any pic's of the storage bin area? If this is bad I would deff pass.

Oh yeah, that "APC" sticker would be enough alone to make me pass on the car
