If I had the money I would py $900 and part it out on eBay and the board here and probably make a profit being the interior is in good shape and the tires/wheels look good as well. At least you'd be helping fellow enthusiasts out like myself, who can always use spare parts On the other hand, the mileage is fairly low for 17 years and it is that beautiful blue, if you know a trustworthy body shop that does good work and you are willing to fork out the $$$$$ to repair and repaint it may be worth it to you.
I wouldn't be surprised if the rough idle went away with a good tune up and some inspections for leaking vacuum hoses.
Yeah, someone had painted the top part of the intake silver just to make it look pretty I think. He said that he had to replace the gas tank because it was full of rust and the engine was not running for that reason when he got it.

yeah,,,rust is the killer...I can't tell for sure if it is just surface rust or not...surface rust from chips and such don't bother me, it is the deep rust you have to really look at. I did not take the time to look at all photos but ......you best get someone there with you who knows "7's" and body work.....for $700.00 or less, you can't go wrong.....but I may be undervaluing it cause I really don't know enough about it ...good luck...cjf

Good stuff, and I agree.
It's too easy to find non-rust eaten cars here for me to comment. Hell, my twisted up SE parts car that's been sitting outside for years has very little.

I'd call that a Michigan car. Michigan, of course, is an old Native American word that either means "very bad roads", or "parts car".

That's way too much $$ for a rustbucket. Oxidation is difficult and expensive to fix, and accelerates once it's visible.

Either bargain the seller way down and then search for a clean shell to transfer all those fine -SE parts onto, or just keep looking.

BTW, a guy I know came back from Georgia earlier this year trailering a spotless, clean & straight GSL-SE shell (no drivetrain, suspension, glass, or interior) that he paid $20 for. They're out there.

And in case my previous post really is missing, I'll say it agin: rust sucks. What you are looking at is a parts car.

Also have to remember that these cars rust from the inside out. If you can see rust outside of the car you can bet those storage bins are rotted away. Rotten storage bins are no good when your rear end mounts up the them!

I second that it's a parts car.

Parts car!

My -SE only had some rust on the hood from the paint being so bad. It was solid mechanically and I paid $800 for it.
