I put a -se tranny in my 80 RX-7 about 6 months ago. I had to cut 2-3" of metal out to install the tranny. Now when I drive the heat comes throught that hole. I want to place some sheetmetal in there to cover the hole up. Can the lower dash/shifter surround piece be removed without the dash? I tried to fit the metal into the shifter surround but tha area is to small to get the metal in there.. Thanks..

 

I got the lower piece out.. Now have to get some sheet metal..
