-SE fuel tank, no fuel to pump.

Hey all. ok, so i'm trying to get this -Se to run.
remember it sat for 6 years. the fuel that was in the tank turned into, well,, crap !! So i got another fuel pump and filter from Mel ( thanks again mel) installed the pieces, hooked it up, no fuel out, in the engine bay.
pump, pumps. no nothing. blew air through the fuel line from the front to the back. Added 2 gallons of gas to the tank, nothing !! so my guess is that the fuel tank pick-up
is cloged with that crap. What else is there ?? i think i'm going ok, but the -SE is new to me. thanks.

replace that tank or get it clean and re-coated (not all radiator shops will do it). In case you need another tank, contact 84SE. he has an extra GSL-SE gas tank. Also, here in LA, junkyards tend to poke holes into the tank for safety reason.

Drop the tank and do the POR-15 cleaning. Cheap, and effective.

Once the pickup tube has started rusting internally, you may end up having the same problem crop up even if the tank itself is sealed. I used a bass guitar string to clean my clogged pickup tube and it worked real well for awhile, but then the problem kept recurring so eventually I ended up swapping out the tank.
