-SE fuel pumps,low-presure=no start !

Hey all,

Today i put a guage in-line that goes from 0 - 110 lbs.
and the other guage only went from 0 - 15 lbs.
It's hard to find a guage that goes that high, trust me.

Anyway i'm only getting 30 lbs. fuel presure and thats not enough. what is the next best fuel pump, other then OEM. OK all you -SE guys, that have done the switch what did you end up with ?? is it PSI, or gallons per hour ???? that is important ? thanks.

Ok, let see here, how are you measuring fuel pressure?

Dead head from the pump or did you 'T' into fuel hose.

Dead head should be 49.8 to 71.1 lb/in
and 'T' in at idle it should be 36.97 with the vacuum hose disconnect at the pressure regulator and 28.44 psi with the vacuum hose connected to the fuel regulator.

I just bought a MSD #2225 43GPH on some other member recommendation as a replacement pump.

Thanks , thats good info. now my question is,,,,
will a 2ed gen fuel pump work on my -SE ??
both are 13b's, both are FI, and there are a lot more 2ed gens at my local junkyard. It's crazy how much fuel pumps cost (new) .

The GSL-SE fuel pump is outside the tank, and the 2nd generations Rx-7 fuel pump is inside the tank. And the tanks are not interchangable ( well not easily).
