SE on eBay...rear seats

You guys ought to check this out...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6327

Demz look like stock rear seats to me, but to my knowledge, you couldn't get them in North America from the factory, only Japan. It's worth looking at anyway, they're kinda neat

You can install back seats on any 1st gen as far as I know, right? Looks nice though, shame EVERY damn -SE has to be 1500+ miles away from me.

This car has been put up for several weeks. He wants something over $6K for it.

He had an incredible (rediculous) sound system in it and some of the interior is trashed as a result of it. The first week it was up, he had what looked like a small nuclear device permanently mounted under the glove box (read holes in lower dash) so that no human could sit in the front seat. The rear was totally consumed by speakers that looked more like primers from Bizmark size artillery shells.

He stripped all that out, but he still wants too much for it.

You couldn't get them factory installed in North America, but oucould get them as a dealer option... My mom did.

And those are the stock seats available from dealers, from 84/85... I sat in them for quite a few years...

Yeah the guy probably just ripped some rear seats out of a j-spec, and threw them in his SE. Its done more than you'd think.

Actually, they seem to be different from the j-sec seats.
As far as I can tell, factory (j-spec) rear seats all seem to be fold-downs.
The dealer installed North American seats I've seen (like the one on ebay there) aren't...

smnc you are wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, the stock seats are very differant than those. I could give a very long statement on what seats those are but I will not.

and yes you could get stock rear seats installed as a dealer option. you could also get rear seats installed at a dealer that were not stock. and those are not stock.

and by the way those fold down. look in the center there is a t shaped pull.

I think I said those were made in californa. have you ever heard of company named pacific t-top ?

the stock seats were the same seats as the j-spec, e-spec,aus-spec and sa-spec rear seats all made in japan.

get your moms invoice take a look they are aftermarket.
all mass produced rear seats for 1st gen rx-7s folded down.

by the way I have a set of those rears in my car.

you are not the seller are you?

I also had a car with stock rear seats also. not moms by the way.
less than 1000 words thats short.
