you can feel the pedal get a little harder to push when the secondarys are opening.
and with mine there is a slight flatspot when the secondarys open up at low RPM.

I've done this to several peoples cars, the throttle is different. The secondaries feel like a stiffer point in the throttle and then they open and VOORRRRM!

is it really worth all the hassle(well it doesn't look to take that long but im a lazy person..) you guys really felt a difference? what do you fell? more power when the secondaries open? that shuld be around what 4000-5000RPM? and what is this "flatspot"? on my stock 12A engine, all the power comes in after bout 4000RPM... is that when the secondaries open?
thanks

so they open ONLY when you floor it? would it be better for them to open when you just press on the pedal? because if they don't open because I'm not flooring it... there isn't going to be a power loss right? because normally they kick at at about 4000RPM no?

Rex79 - If you drive normally with this mod, it actually increases your gas mileage a little. I used to get around 300 miles per tank; now I get around 360.
After you switch to mechanical, you're going to have to learn how to drive the car without bogging the carb down with air, since there is no AP on the secondaries. What I do is smoothly press the pedal down until I have the secondaries open a little and then floor it if needed. If you floor it from a stand still, the car will stall; too much air and too little fuel. It takes time for the pressure to drop enough so that the fuel will compensate for the larger amount of air flow.

Thank you RotorMotorDriver, i switched to mechanical last night. Holy ****!!!! What a difference!!!
I wanted to do this mod a while ago, but was not sure exactly how to do it. The pics were a BIG help!
But, i do have 1 question. In the last pic where you say tie the 2 linkages together.
I was wondering if i tied the right 2 linkages?
The 2 i tied together both move at the same time anyways, i don't understand why i would have to tie them together
If/when you have a pic of the links tied, could you let me know cause i will only have the net until Nov 29th, and i want to have this done before i move.
Thank you again!
Vince
P.S. For the people who haven't done this yet........DO IT!
