To Scrap it or not to scrap it?
Okay, As all of you know, I have a 1985 GSL thats a bit damaged by a collision caused by my stupidity.
The collision had sufficient force to mangle and tear the passenger side control arm and snap the tie rod adjustment sleeve like a twig.
On top of that, it has the dreaded rear wheel well rust.
I've replaced the tie rod and control arm, and I drove it several miles to storage, but I'm still skeptical about it's condition. I don't wanna put a lotta money into it just to find out the frame is bent from teh collision or that I can't repair the rust holes well enough.
I have, however, located a 1985 GSL-SE in the area for sale. I could probably be all over it for $1000 or less. Of course, I'd only buy it if it was rust free... The paint is well faded, but it's the same color as my GSL (SunBeam Silver Metallic K3) except for my GSL's brown passenger side fender... And the SE's interior is maroon leather, in very sad shape...
*sigh* What to do, What to do?
With college and all, finances are hard to come by, much less the time to work on stuff...

Lack of storage room is a terrible thing, cause it sucks to let 'em go. My wife is slighlty miffed at me for keeping the eyesore rustpile and the mint-looking rustpile behind our little house.
Anyway, I recommend checking around for some dirt-cheap storage to stash the crashed one in and get the -SE (after gently removing the storage bins and peering at the wheelwells with a flashlight, of course).
GSL-SEs are fading fast, if I come across a clean cheap one I'll gladly chuck a parts car and maybe the project shell too.
