Say hello to my 85 GSL-SE

First of all thanks to the board member who did the carfax VIN search for me, apparently there is an odomiter discrepancy with this vehicle, other than that it was only owned by one person, a female who allowed the car to overheat

I ended up happening upon this car in an impound lot, 6 months of research and bugging the lot owner and 250 bucks later she was delivered to my door with a clean tittle (minus the odomiter note).

Ive already started tearing the old motor out and have two other NA 13Bs from 2nd gens to choose from as a replacement motor. I hope to have a simple swap to get it running and thru inspections. The car is in that nice a condition. Check it out.

Thanks guys, I hope I can enjoy it soon to. And I checked the car over fully (Visualy) as soon as it came off the flat bed. The exhaust is almost fully rusted thru, and I will add pics and see if I can have the thread archived here that shows the fuel filter and one of two other pieces heavily oxidiesed. Not rusted, yet still in **** poor shape.

IM currently researching to find out if I have a full TII car, will it have everything I need to run the turobo motor or not. If anyone can answere that question my life will be alot easier. Buddy is planning a 3 rotor project so I get all TII goodies.

Thanks again guys.

Got the engine out and got surprized by that huge freaking nut on the flywheel. Measured it and went to sears and bought a 2 and 1/8th inch socket in 3/4ths inch drive and a slide bar, beat the hell out of it for about 2 minutes with a 5 lb hammer. Started removing the front plate and man that rotor was just as dry as hell. Theres corosion/oxidation everywhere in the waterways.

When I took the oil pan drain bolt out I got nothing but coolant for a good little while. The oil that did come out looked like one of those starbucks mocas you can buy from 7-11. I will take some pics soon to show you just how bad it all is. Now that the motor is out I plan on wrighting down everything I see that needs to be replaced so that the car passes inspection. Get those parts (looks like just bushings) in before the motor goes in.

The 10th AE doner is actually 3 miles from me in storage. I have decided im going to go ahead with it as soon as possible. Also found out the TII motor has only 70K miles on it. Im excited

Actually I havent bothered to look at the two 13Bs im getting. The buddy who has them has no clue about there condition. They were core motors sitting at one of his friends race shops and were just offered to him for free so im assuming they are going to be nothing more than tear down time waisters till I can piece together a good motor out of them and the one from the SE.

The one TII motor I havent been able to get in touch with the owner sence the last we talked, friday. Ive been working all weekend. As soon as he gets me a price I can pick it up and get to work.

By the by, what do you think I should pay for everything I need from the TII car?
