It's not a straight bolt on (lots of work involved), or you would see alot more 1st gen owners with 5 lug bolt pattern (We're not to fond of the 3-4 wheel selection we currently have).

Would any of you actually buy a big break kit with 5 lug? How much would you guys be willing to spend?

I have been thinking of making a bolt on kit.

YES. As long as it uses OEM Rotors, (preferably Mazda)

Well, i could maybe use TII rotors/calipers, but when they run out, you would have to spend a lot..

I rather do a brembo kit or something, that is lighter weight and has better availability..

Ok, I'll look into it.. Wow, i will have alot of custom parts when everything is said & done..

I have personall seen Wildwood brakes on a 79 SA with a TII swap. So I know it exists. I just don't know where it is available.

Well, that is kinda what i am thinking of doing. I would probably take a brake kit fro a TII, and modify it for the 1st gen..

But it would be fairly pricey, because the kits are pretty expensive.. I probably wouldn't charge much more then the TII kit, but i would have to see how much work it would end up being.

But i plan on doing this to my GSL-SE, so i can through something together for anyone else who wants one.

Id be semi interested in it, but I think im putting a 4 lug 8.8" ford rear in mine, and redrilling/tapping the front rotors to a more favorable lug pattern.

Depends on what it costs

Well, a 6 caliper brake kit usually runs ~1400+

So it would be pricey, so i might just make an adapter so you can bolt on second gen calipers & rotors.

I'll have to see what i can get them made for. but i don't care about makeing money off of them now, but if i can get a few people in on it, the cost will be cheaper.

i'll look into it and post something up when i get some actual figures on costs..

I dunno.

But considering the currency exchange rate, it may be favorable for us.
