Sad Pic..... Need donor

85 GSL-SE on jack stands waiting for a Oil Cooler.
I have found one in Canada but the Bone Yard said customs will not let them ship it to me.
Anyone go to Canada often?
Anyone in Canada know of this rule?

I cracked it when upgrading the lines to stainless.
The old ones were leaking. Know I think it was he cooler leaking and not the lines. But anyways they needed to be replaced since they have 174,000 miles on them.

Anyone in Canada who can help?

Anyone live in Canada that I can ship this cooler to that might be able to cross over into the states and send it to me?
Can even pay you for your gas and all of the shipping cost.

If so send me a message.
Thanks

Why don't you just get one from a bone yard for $50. Or put an add on the parts trader and get one for $30-$40. Or go to a radiator shop and have yours fixed for $25.
Why go through the hassle of having one imported from another country?

you need an oil cooler? All my cars have oil coolers - oil coolers that I paid 5-15 dollars each. they are from a Ford Crown Vic cop-car. There are three of different sizes on the cop car. There is a Power Steering one (small) a engine oil one (pretty big) and a transmission oil one (huge). On my 626 I use an oil cooler as the oil cooler, my dad's 93 MX-6 uses a PS cooler as an oil cooler and my '84 RX-7 uses an oil cooler as an oil cooler. My REPU may even get a tranny cooler as an oil cooler. Police Crown Vic's are pretty popular in yards. You want a 1988-current model. But, there may be coolers in earlier Crown Vic's but I never checked in one. The civilian hi-po Crown Vic (with the BBS wheels) may have them too.

Well, to answer your question
The bone yards around here have no RX7's much less the GSL-SE.
As for importing one I want the OEM cooler to keep my GSL-SE stock and original. As for fixing mine, not only did it cracked in two places and the chunck fell out the threads are shot.

Thanks for the ideas.

Sorry, but I want the OEM cooler. I could not put in any other cooler that I would have to modify in my GSL-SE.
It is all original (Besides exhauts and shocks)with 175,000 miles and will stay original.
Thanks for the help.

Ok,

Here is what I would pay for a used cooler,
Maybe one of you would sell it to me knowing the price.

84-85 GSL-SE Oil cooler with no cracks
$100.00

81-82-83 Oil cooler with no cracks
$60.00

I was told to go from an 12A with oil cooler under the oil filter to the one mounted in the front you would need the 79-83 oil cooler and radiator. They said the oil cooler mounts to the radiator. Then run new oil cooler lines.

If you have an 84 or 85 with 12A. There is still a bracket in front of the radiator that would be used for the 13B oil cooler for the GSL-SE. This would allow you to use an SE cooler with the tall radiator.

Thanks for everyones help.......

I have a friend at my Fire Department that is going to cut off the inlet and out let and weld on a thicker inlet and outlet.
He works for a car manufacture and makes all of the tools and dies need to build those cars.

Anyone have a cracked GSL-SE oil cooler laying around and want to get rid of it I would like to fix up a spare.

79-81 Oil Cooler into a GSL-SE

I had this same problem. I've learned that GSL-SE oil coolers are cronic for this problem.

With very very little modification to the mounting brackets, I mounted an oil cooler from a '79. Been running it for over a year now and no leaks, no problems.

But, still keeping my ear open for a new/old stock one on Partstrader or the like........
