i had some money saved up so i bought a BMW 325ES, and we are renting a house in navarre for the time being.

still waiting on my insurance cash and fema reimbursment.

i havn't slept in a real bed in almost a month

edit: the dirt you see on the FB is the waterline. there was only 4ft of water in the garage, but my room had the ceiling taken out so when the water came in it was at least 9ft tall.

rumours of a 40ft wave hit the area surrounding my house...

I hope you are being funny. Move from one natural disaster to another? It's just like people that continue to build on the Mississippi flood plain in MO and wonder why their houses and businesses get destroyed and why insurance rates continue to climb.

BTW, sorry to hear about the damage. My grandparents are over in Melbourne and had quite a bit of clean up to do but luckily no damage like what has happened to you. My dad spent a week down there with some other relatives cleaning up the place only to have Jeanne (?) sweep through right after. Glad she wasn't as bad.

Last time I checked, we don't get FOUR EARTHQUAKES A YEAR.

Florida: The Plywood State.

my family moved down here, so i followed. i'll probably move a bit further north once i'm on my own.

i can bet my parents will not want to live on the water again.

as for the car..when i opened the hood it was like 80 years had passed. the trumpets on the weber side draft had huge rust spots and everything was green and nastey.

This isn't a normal thing for FL either. I use to live there. Lived there for three years without a single hurricane let alone a tropical depression Moved and a year or two later they got hit by one hurricane during that particular season.

Just like the Miss. doesn't flood normally as high as it did in '93 but it happens. Supposedly that only happens every 100 hundred years and oh yeah, in MO they have a fault line that could let go anytime now and pretty much destory SEMO since most of the towns are built on old mines. Last time it let go, the Miss. flowed backwards!

So sure you may not get 4 earthquakes a year but it only takes one big one to hit to be really devistating.

I threw in MO just to show it kind of doesn't matter where you live in the country there is always something to deal with. Not trying to start a flame war or anything, just saying adding my 2 rotors worth.

Man that sux . Sorry you have to go thru this. After being hit with the other 3 hurricanes we were lucky and only lost roof shingles. Yea living on the water is probably nice, but thats one reason we chose not to, and live further inland.

Sorry about your stuff man glad to hear no one was heart in your family. I gatta ask did you put all those things like that hat and the paint cans back up there or did you just get a flood and not a hurricane that would have ripped your house apart? just curious as to how they stayed up there?

the garage was the last place the water went, so it basically just filled up with water.

the water entered the house through my room(the one pictured with the upside down box spring) as the water was rushing over the house, it ate away at the dirt under my back porch. when the porch collapsed, it took the aluminum storm shutters with it leaving my sliding glass door unprotected. water came in through there..busted out my window, tore holes in the walls, ripped down the front door, took a fridge across the street etc etc.

salvaging of the car is already underplace. the seats and wiring harness are total losses, but so far as i can tell the drivetrain and chassis appear to be ok. the car will no longer be driven on the street, and it will take a lot of time to get it rewired correctly.

sorry to hear about that, at least you can still get your car back and running. And it could have been worse, on average 13 people die a year because of coconuts falling from trees. Hope you get your FB drifting again soon.

Damn man. I'm sorry for your loss.

I think I'll stay right here in the Mid-Atlantic... Last "hurricane" we got, I was driving my civic through the peak of it with no problem.

We just have terrorist attacks every once in a while and I'm 30 mins south of a tactical target.

thanks for the offer robert, i'll be sure to get in touch with you once i can spend some time on the project.

i'm thinking the carb may still be ok. i took it off the car around 3 days afterward, the linkage had started to slow down..so i sprayed penetrating oil on pretty much everything that was exposed, then ran some carb cleaner through the fuel line.

the engine may need an ATF treetment just to get all the gunk out of it, shifter and clutch seem to operate ok. brakes keep rusting up and sticking to the rotors, so those will all be replaced. my tokico shocks and RB springs still look brand new though hehe

Glad it was the car, not the driver, that sustained damage
