Cool SA Short Shifter pic

Well here is what you asked for, a picture of the short shifter that I fabricated for my 79. The one on the left is the modified T-5 shifter and the one on the right is the stock 79 shifter (modified for the tri-ax shift handle).

Next to the shifter's are the mustang shifters, the one on the left is the stock shifter and the one on the right it's the Steeda Tri-Ax shifter.

I made a slight upgrade to the shifter this weekend. I noticed the fulcrum ball wasen't fully sitting in the cup so I removed the entire shifter housing, and made a 1/4" alum spacer that fits underneith the housing. Now the shifter it self seats better and it's much smoother, and also a bit shorter in throw.

Matt

if the picture doesn't show here is a link

You have to cut and paste Geocites links for them to work.

1rx7owner: Thanks, I'm just glad it worked
here are the tools I used to make the shifter:
Black/Decker DyeGrinder, CH 1/2" Drill (for the 3/4" bit), CH Mig Welder, Vice... and a whole lot of patience.

Felix: Tried linking the files to geocities like you said before and that failed too, so I just compressed the files a bit more and uploaded them to the server.
