Question SA lights=REALLY UGLY?

I wanna get rid of my series 3 rear lights in favour of the SA rear lights (series 1 or 2). Just wanted to know what your opinion on the SA rear lights are. I read in an old rx-7 article review that they thought the SA rear lights were hideous. I don't think they look hideous at all. I already got the SA front bumper and I think it looks way better than the series 3 front. I'm just getting really annoyed with the cheesy grooves that the series 3 has on the back. They look gross.

Btw, would RX-3 rear lights on my 1st gen be considered really stupid or even *gasp* rice? I'm considering these lights too if I can find a pair.

probably looking at a bit of body work.

I also think the sa front bumper looks good.

a few people have been talking about a integrated bumper conversion, but I think that might take away from the classic lines of the car.

I have thought that shaving the black strip from both the bumpers would clean up the front some. d

sorry, didnt answer your question.

I think the FB lights look better than the SA lights.

all the rx7s have had a very smooth look to them, and I always thought the SA lights were really too sqaure and didnt fit right with the car.

I tinted my taillights black, so its one black strip along the back of the car. I hope that some LED panel inserts become available.

Rx3 lights are failly large, again, alot of bodywork.

I like the way SA's look myself, not sure how a S3 would look with S1 lights on it though.

Hey if nothing else you may be the first and only person to convert their FB to look like a SA.

I think the FB series lights are better looking and safer. I've heard the SA series lights are very easy to get off as the screws that hold them in are on the outside, easy access to the hatch.

Of course, I've heard all 1st gen RX-7s are easy to get into.

FB lights look better, but they don't age well because of the cheap plastic covers. I prefer the SA lights for this reason.

Well man,

I dunno why you would wanna change them, but imo series 3 lights look fine, and much better than S1 lights, more modern, don't have screws that are visible, etc.

Putting rx3 lights would be a bit of a a headfuck...the dimensions are very different.... just like trying to put in series 5 lights on the back..totally different... just stick with em imho.

Cheers

I prefer the SA lights, in my opinion the FB lights really do not look that good at all. Beut everyone is entitled to their opinion. Good luck with the swap if you get all the materials.

THATS RIGHT! the SA's lights are smooth, stylish, and down right sexy. as for the screws, who cares. if someone can take the tail lights off, twist the lights so they will pop out,( which isn't super fun doing from the inside0) and somehow, i mean SOMEHOW get there hands inside to pop the latch, they can have it for all the work..

doesn't it look GOOD?

Yeah, like going through the lights is the fastest way in anyways. I like my sa lights personally, but to each their own.
