s5 t2 into 1st gen WIRING!!!

Hey guys... I need some help.

I'm all but done with my s5 t2 swap into my 1st gen, but, I need to figure out wiring for dash/left side harness.

As far as I can tell I only need wiring for the coil packs, CAS, ignition power, constant battery and ground(s)... ALL THE OTHER CRAP I DON'T NEED as I'm still using all of my FB wiring.

So, I'd like to hack up my stock s5 t2 dash/left side harness (basically just the ECU connector and connectors for coil packs & CAS) and run my own wires for only what I need to get the car running.

Maybe some intake from someone else who has done this?

Or... maybe a detailed wiring diagram so I know which wires do what....

i sure appreciate any help.

Thanks

I've been working on a wiring guide for the S5 into FB swap for some time now, but havent' gotton to a point where i'm comfortable posting the whole thing.
Basically you need the connectors/wiring for:

Coils
main relay
fuel pump resistor/injector relay
circuit opening relay
FC underhood fuse block
green check connectors
tach signal
ignition on signal (to tell the ecu the car is on, can be had any number of places under the dash)

The CAS wiring is part of the right side/engine harness on S5's, you were probably reading something for an S4 when you saw that...

Like I said I've been meaning to do a writeup and actually have a draft typed up, but don't have pictures, and have no taken the time to mark up a wiring diagram showing exactly what you need. Hopefully the above info will get you started though. Percentage recently got one running and had pm'd me for some help, maybe he still has some of the pm's I sent him and will chime in

Good luck!

Thanks for the input.. as my car still has all the FB wiring harness I'm not running all the FC harness... I'm basically ONLY running wires for coils and tach signal and leaving everything else out (main relay, fuel pump resistor/injector relay, circuit opening relay, FC underhood fuse block, green check connectors, etc).
- The MAIN coil power will be coming from my FB coil leads which are already circuit protected, ignition on only with a HIGH break amp
- I plan on leaving my existing FB fuel relay setup as is.

I sure hope this is a sound idea... we'll see

i attached a picture of my s5 t2 dash/left side harness after I finished removing the coil wiring. NOTE: i DID NOT hack it up.. i actually carefully stripped off ALL the tape, plastic and more tape from the harness than pulled the wires through... UGH... took a bit

I have done this a million times....if you have the stock s5 under dash harness you can strip it down and will need to keep wiring for both coil packs, main relay cause that is what powers the computer and injectors, and the circuit opening relay is good to have because it powers up the fuel pump only when the engine is cranked over but if you want to simplify things you can deal without it.ignition and battery power goes into the main relay so it's pretty basic once you strip down the fc harness.the s5 is always easier cause the cas wiring is already in the engine side harness, but I always wire up my fb's and old school rx's to the s4 style harness just to prevent dealing with limp mode if the dam electric mop decides to fail on s5's,and the electric mop can't be installed in the fb front cover.

Yup... I hear ya. Electric OMP removed... Sending my n370 ecu off to rtek shortly for their 1.7 installs (OMP delete option). Currently planning to run 550cc primary and 720cc secondaries.

I ran my engine harness through my firewall last night. Damn a FB is a lot smaller than a FC. I almost have enough harness to mount the ECU on my center console... "check that out bitches!!!"... but, i won't... It's gonna look "complety stock"... (minus the widebody, lowered and fukn HUGE intercooler up front.. LOL)
