s5 carbed motor in an 85 gslse

I was wondering How exactly this is done...I have a friend who had one but he totaled it before I decided this was the route I was going to go. My questions include this:

Its a 6port motor, would I just remove the sleeves?

I already have an idea for a carb, but what about intake manifold?

Also, what about the s5 transmission, will that fit into an FB? Or will the 13b fit onto the original transmission?

and lastly, what do I do about the distributor? Can I use a 12A distributor?

I tried searching but I didnt find anything pertaining to my questions.

thanks
chris

Racingbeat intake kit for a 6 port, 12a dizzy, and mount the 12a tailshaft on the 13b transmission. But personally, I would stay efi.

If you do this, Could you document the whole process. I can archive it for future reference.

so where are we so far?

s3 distributor
-se front cover (if u want to go with mechanical omp)
-se oil pan
depending on what carb and manifold u get..
(IMO i always liked the weber look on rotarys)
fuel pump
fuel regulator
maybe some bracket for throttle cable (i think mazdatrix sells some)
13b exhaust manifold. (cuz it looks like you had a 12a in an se?)
a dremel

thats all i can think of. i was planning to do the same swap and thats the list i came up with from the top of my head. from what i remember, the fb tranny's bolts up to the s5 but the subframe (i think) needs to be grinded out 22mm's to mount the engine down.

i could be totally wrong so feel free to correct me.

OK...as of right now, I have the s5 6 port built and in a different car at my home in san diego.

I ordered up a brand new webber 48 downdraft carb to go with my shiny new 6p manifold. Monday I plan on ordering a exhaust manifold, fuel pump, water pump, thermostat w/ housing, pressure regulator and a power pulse muffler.

With that that should be everything minus the plugs i need for the s5 motor( will come a week later).

As parts start showing up on my doorstep i will take pictures and post.
