S4 into 85 GSL swap

Okay after a lot of research, and just having picked up a complete 1987 FC with the N/A 13B I think I'm ready to do my swap. I just wanted to make sure I'm on the right path and ask a couple of questions I didn't find the answers to. My car is 1985 12A automatic, so I am essentially doing 2 swaps at the same time.

Before I go on, please do not tell me to carb it, I chose this swap over street porting my 12A with a weber for driveabilty reasons and I decided not to swap in a turbo II due to the cost of premium fuel, intercooler complexity/cost, turbo rotary reliablity reasons and that since my intended use is mainily autox/weekend toy and I didn't want to upset the balance of the car by having too much power.

Okay to get the engine in the car I've read that I need a 12A or GSL-SE front cover, GSL-SE oil pan and GSL-SE front crossmember. But to me it looks like the Racing Beat engine mount seems the way to go, would I still need a 12A front cover and GSL-SE oil pan if I use the Racing Beat mount?
If do need the GSL-E pan, can I use a competition oil pan instead?
What about a windage tray?

I know I need a new fuel pump & tank. Do I have to use a GSL-SE tank or are there other alternatives?
Is it best to go with an inline external fuel pump or one in the tank?
On my car there is a fuel line from the tank to the carb as well as a return line. I can use these with the new fuel system correct?

I assume it's best to use the stock 2nd gen oil cooler? Should I just mount it up front below the rad? What rad should I use? I don't think the 2nd gen rad will fit so I'm leaning towards the stock 1st gen rad or maybe a competition aluminum rad if the budget allows but I don't want it to be overkill.
What about running an e-fan? Can I run the stock fan?

The transmission seems pretty straight forward except that I have to fabricate 2 brackets, Do I need a 5-speed transmission crossmember with the fabbed brackets?
Are there templates or measurements available for these brackets or do I just get them myself? I've seen the pictures of them from this board.

Wiring, I've read that the passenger's side engine harness can be left alone.
So do I run the harness from the engine right to the 2nd gen ECU? I've read that I need to do come splicing on the driver's side though, anything in particular?
What do I use from my old driver's side harness other than the headlight/signal light?
Will the 12A harness work as my ignition harness? I plan to run an MSD box with MSD coils.

Last but not least, ECU, I've seen that people have had problems with the stock ECU in a carbed car. I cannot afford a Haltech. I've been leaning towards and SAFC over the Megasquirt because I don't want to swap it a dizzy. So I only need fuel not spark. Any thought on this. Please don't let this turn into a SAFC vs. MS debate.

I think that's it. Thanks for all the help in advance and the search function has helped a lot.

Thanks. I have read it before and wanted to address the questions it doesn't answer and ask for clarification, but I will look through it again. Also I just read that the Racing Beat engine mount it for 13B's up until 1985, so I guess that's out. Using a 12A front cover is out too I don't want to have to modify the OMP.
