Please someone tell me if i can bolt a standard 13b turbo series 4 motor onto my standard series 1 gearbox with out changing anything.

have been looking at countless threads and cannot find what i need as everyone just does the s4 gearbox swap too. I know its a weaker gearbox but if it fits, ill use it for now.

i mean... your goign to blow it up sooner or later. but yeah, it should fit.

who knows... first time you hit boost it could go. i would upgrade to a TII trans or n/a with stronger internals, just my .02

 

You will need to change the clutch. I could not confirm, but I believe the (s4) turbo clutch is 225mm. I do know that the series 1 (s1) is a 215mm clutch. I believe you can use the smaller clutch but I would advise against it.

"NOTE: Excluding the TURBO, all the different flywheels and clutches, from 74 through 92, are basically divided by 215mm clutch (74-82), and 225mm (83-92)"

S4 turbo clutch is 240mm. The S5 and FD is 235mm for some reason. Both work on T2 flywheels.

 

Thanks guys, yep after further investigation it looks like i have to change the flywheel/ cluch setup. So its definitely not bolt and thats the reason why i dont listen to people saying "should" bolt in no worries" haha. Going to go s5 turbo box and custom tailshaft.

Just for information, you MUST use the flywheel that is made for the motor/rotating assembly.
