S3 pipe location ?

Hi,

Im new to S3 rotarys and im in the middle of removing the standard exhaust system and swapping it for a stainless system. I've removed alot of the emission stuff but im stuck with a few pipes. There is a pipe next to the altitude compensator in the lower intake manifold that seems to go nowhere. Could you please help me.

I've also got another pipe that doesn't plugs into part of the emissions, does this plug into the sensor above it ?

Do I just block off all the other ports that now don't have any plugged into them ?

If there is a link to a howto it would be greatly appriciated too, just seemed to come to a blank when doing a search.

Cheers in advance

Shaun

I think the first i need to block off, but the second isn't in the tutorial or schematic, its been removed. Does it plug into the sensor above normally ?

What sense? you're making no sensor.

Its ok, got it sorted today thanks to somebody on ausrotary. Cheers for the responce though !

The top one was for the coasting valve, the pipe that was connected went into the air-filter. The bottom image the pipe went into the anti-afterburner solenoid.

$48, that's insane, they are under 20 here. If you need a copy of the FSM, there is a link in my sig to the online ones. Enjoy.

Sorry, I can't take credit for the download site, but I push it as much as I can to get the FSMs and info out to members. Probably couldn't afford the bandwith to maintain it, lol.

For now, I suggest plugging any openings that don't have a connection, then work from there. If I understand your post about the opening on the rear part of the intake manifold, it will need a block off plate made, unless it's the line for the brake booster. The one coming off of the bottom of the air cleaner in the pic can be blocked off with aluminum duct tape or even a wine bottle cork trimmed down to fit.

As for any others you have a question about, post a pic, be specific in the description and use MS Paint to circle the item in doubt.

I got the car running on sunday I just blocked the holes up with insulation take and it fired up great. The choke isn't staying out on its own now so something else to figure out ! The tickover is a bit low but i think im going to get it checked over and setup by the tuner i bought the exhaust off. He has a hub dyno so at least it will be run to macth the changes !

Will be masking stuff off with alu duct tape at the weekend !

Cheers
