S3 brake vent/ducting ?'s

S3 brake vent/ducting ?'s

This is pretty basic I'm sure but I don't have a S3 car to tear apart and look at so I have to ask. Anyway, On S3 cars there are holes in the vailance to cool the brakes. If I want to put that on a 83 is that all there is or is there some kind of ductwork behind that I would have to install as well? TIA

Yes, but I don't see why they can't be easily transplanted as well.

THey are very slim little pieces of metal. You could probably cut them off an s3, and drill holes and screw them onto an s2.

I'd have to go out and look though.

Well, technically thats whats there, but given the condition of the ones on my car, I think you'd be better off making a custom setup out of dryer hose, and appropriate fasteners (read: duct tape and bailing wire), rather than trying to find a set of vanes thats actually in good shape. Here's the pics of mine before I took them off:

As you can see, they weren't doing much to duct any air.
