Exclamation RX7 Mechanic in GA offering cheap work for limited time!!

Hey, I thought that I would let you all know that while I am STILL looking for a new job, (I'm a senior systems engineer by trade), I am offering my garage and my labor to all those needing work on their RX7!!!

I have owned several of these cars, and have been doing this for years now.

I have already done ALOT of work from people responding to this thread.

Lots of engine swaps, etc....
See the original thread for references and results....

I have all the special factory tools required to perform anything from an engine swap, to rebuilding and refurbising your interior!

I have a code scanner, a rotary compression tester (broken right now), engine hoist, full air tools, and much more in my well stocked garage.

You can rent my space and use anything I have for your project...

OR

I can fix almost EVERYTHING on your late model 2ND gen car!

And I can refurbish/repair nearly ANYTHING on any OTHER car. (RX7 or otherwise)

I have restored interiors on older and newer cars countless times.

SO, get a quote from your local mechanic, drop me a line, here or by email, and I WILL make it worth your while.

I know what I know, and I know what I dont know. If I can't help you, i'll say so....

BUT..... If i can, I promise i'll do it as good as (most of the time BETTER than) your local shop, or NO LABOR CHARGE!

Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

If you want to know more about me, my attitude twards these cars, and how fanatical i'll be when working on yours, just search for all posts by me.

Read and you'll see, that I will make sure you leave in 100% better condition than when you arrived.

Where else will you find someone to work on your car, cheaper than the big shops, that you KNOW isn't trying to cut corners, or get onto the next customer!

Help me out, while I look for my next big job, and I'll make sure you get what you need done and then some!

I can provide references of others whos cars I have worked on, and show you pictures of my RX7 projects in progress.

I promise to impress.

Reply here, OR email me below....

Lets help each other out!!!

Well get about 7 THOUSAND bucks set aside and have at it.

then make sure your saving an extra 3 THOUSAND while your spending a year assembling it.

You'll need it for somthing.

This AINT cheap!

Details damnit, details! (Or at least a quick run down or what I'm about to get myself into.)

I know hitman has a 3 rotor but it's a 13b modded engine.

Has there ever been a 20b in a FB?

I wouldnt dream of putting a 20b in an FB!!!

I wouldnt dream of putting a 20b in an FB!!!

If you COULD get traction, when you hit the brakes the *** would flip over your head like a Cessina with no front landing gear!

The FBs are SOOO LIGHT!

I dont know about using a 13b modded to be a 3 rotor....

TO get a 20b of any kind to work, you need aftermarket computers, ignition and injection.

The factory 20b ECU REQUIRES an automatic COSMO tranny.

They ALL were automatics.

if your thinkin to go the 20B route, there is a forum for this here.

search for it and you will find, it.

just dont go in there asking "how do I put a 20b in...."

theres too much info available on this already.

Thanks for the warnings. I will be putting the 20b in my '85 GSL-SE. I'm aware of the light body and traction problems. Safety is my first hurdle and my first priority. I plan on upgrading the breaking, stiffening the chassis and suspension system. The after market ignition and comp is a given. (I will be going with a Haltech.) I was just asking for ideas and suggestions from fellow rotor heads. I haven't come across a FB with a 20b in it yet, so I thought that would be a added bonus. Basically, I just want have some fun, enjoy learning some more, and have a few challenges. I love problem solving and trying new things. The money isn't a issue with this project, just looking for a good challenge.

1st gens use motor mounts off the front cover.

this is the only model that does.

you will have to modify your car heavilly OR have a new front cover made.

I dont know how you will overcome the radically different motor mounting issue.

GOOD LUCK!

Keep the forum up to date on the progress.

I defiantly going to try everyone updated.

Currently I'm in the early stages. I picked up a blown GSL-SE for $800. Got it running, didn't have a garage to start project. Got a garage now, (2 car garage, woo hoo!). Picking up tools left and right, I have many offers of help around the area. Apparently, a lot of people and friends want me to have a 20b FB just as bad as I do.
I'm already gutting the engine bay. I came across a 20b with all accessaries and tranny for $2,500. Yeah the mounting and front cover are some of the things that I'm working on as well. The oil pan will have to me custom as well.
