rx7 in hibernation

i have a 1981 rx7 that's been sitting for several years, it only has 75,000 miles on it.i would like to revive it but i'm not sure what to expect from the carburator or the engine.what are the chances of getting it running? the fuel tank is off as well as the fuel lines . is there any way to jury rig afuel supply to try it out? iknow it isn't carbon locked as i can turn it over by hand. is there anyone who has been down this road that can help ?

I've sort of been down that road. I had no clue how long my car sat when I got it. Basically, all I did was try to start it. I had all the fuel lines in place though, so your going to have to find another way to do it, but just try starting it. Dump a little gas down the carb and crank it over. Just see what happens. If it fires, it will likely run with a constant fuel supply. If it doesn't, there are problems.

I was under the impression that if an RX& of that vintage sat idle for an extended period you might have a hell of a time starting it because the oil seals can dry out. Just a thought. I'm new to the Board but I've owned two 1979s and it seems to be I was told that years ago. Consequently, it helps to fire them up periodically and let the engine run to keep things lubricated.
