Rx7 fuel pump question's

I bought a 1985 RX7 GS for $700 and i was wondering if a aftermarket fuel pump would work and any info i need before i put a new one in.
I have droped the tank cleaned it and clean the lines and lubed up most of the car, engine, tranny. and i have ordered a fuel pump a CARTER Part # P60504 to be exact and i was wondering if that will work. the reson im asking is the pump that was on it was a AIRTEX Part # E8124. Do i need that one or can i use the carter. the carter cost 46 and the airtex cost 141 so what do you guys think?

Its all a matter of fuel delivery rate and pressure. As long as your pump flows enough and you throw a fuel pressure regulator at it, you should be fine.

Slayer, I've used the P60504 for over 5 years now and it will work just fine. Definitely not the most reliable pump though. There was one on the car when I bought it and I've had to replace it twice. So save your receipt and warranty info. It'll work just fine without a regulator, but I'd recommend the Holley 1-4PSI regulator anyway.
