The only problem is that my interior is terrible my dash is cracked my seats are ripped up. Everythings either missing, cracked, broken . . . something! I think i can get a completely new interior from vb but it wolud cost plenty! ! ! I guess i should see which would be more, a custom interior or replacement. Im so lost can they even make a custom center counsole ? btw nice interior. . .

have you considered buying interior components on eBay to replace your worn ones? Or even buying another RX-7 with a better interior?

Im starting on my interior too. Ive put in some series 5 seats, going to remove the crappy back seats and build a little mdf cover with a little built i too box, a floating floor in the back with access to the spare wheel well. Cover it with nice carpet to match the rest. The dash is still in perfect condition so ill leave that as is.

It should be good when finished

Oh and ill put in a nice fire extinguisher mount

Recently I have seen some very nice interior parts, seats, dash, panals...etc in some wrecking yards. Some were perfect. www.car-parts.com It is a fun place to do searches locally for parts near you. Search by year color part and locality.

The problem is the stock interiors are not that nice to begin with, too much cheesy japanese plastic, and faux plastic "stitching." There are some nice upgrades but all one-off custom as far as I know.

Gordon Monsen probably had the nicest interior ever. Everything was covered in leather or alcantara and it looked like a million $. It was a 95 but theoretically you could make a 79-85 look just as good. Pictures don't do it justice and it looked much better in person. If you want some ideas and inspiration check it out:
