Rx-7.5

a styling exercise - what if RX-8 styling were applied to a 2 seater the size of a 1st gen RX-7?

and as a body kit for the 1st gen:

Here I thought this would be a "put a renesis in your 7" thread. I have to bail to my brother's 2nd wedding, so I can't add my pshop opinions... I'll put it on my "to do over the holiday" list

Iotus, what are those, like 20 series tires?
Both versions look a bit too much like a 924/944 to me.
The thing I like about the 1st gens are their angular lines. -WG

That is beautiful, though you would completely have to remove the rear bumper, correct? Plus a five lug conversion would be fun.

Lotus, just get rid of the huge rims, make them a little smaller. But I'd still rather have just a nice clean stock body 1st gen.

The funny thing is the RX-8 has far larger wheels. I stuck with stock sizes on these renditions as I feel it suits the car better.

Bigger wheels mean a higher driveline, higher center of gravity, etc.

I like my pop-up headlights. I don't ever want them removed from any RX-7 I own. If I purchased one without the pop-up headlights then I would have to convert it back.

I'd buy it, sight unseen, even if I discovered that it looked like a Hon-duh just as long as it had a Renesis in it. *period* no question about it.

Thanks for sharing your sketch's Manntis, keep 'em coming. It would be sooooo cool if Mazda designed a new 7 with similar design elements as the 1st Gen.
