RX-3 in "The Exorcist" movie?

Is it just me, or were they driving around an RX-3, in the second half of the movie. It sure looked like one.

I've never seen that one...

I still have the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" on my to-see list ever since I heard about the one scene where there is a Mazda dealership with a large rotary display in it.

There are RX-2s out the **** in the showroom. I believe there is a REPU too, but I can't recall.

I musta fallen alseep cause I surely woulda remembered that scene, seeing as how I have an eye for things rotary.

I can spot an RX-7... Any generation, over the walls that seperate the normal highway from the HOV lanes, when it's traveling in the opposite direction, while I'm driving.

I have to drive. Every time I do that **** with my friends, they make me walk.

"Dude! There's an RX-7... pull up next to him so I can tell him about the forum!"

"NO!"

"Aww c'mon dude. They rock.. They have the wankel rota..."

"Get out! Walk ya bastard! I dont wanna hear about anything rotary for the ten thousandth time!"

I doubt it (the REPU that is), as the movie was made in '73-74ish. RX-4s would have been just tricking into the showrooms, Cosmos and REPUs would have to wait a little while longer Could it have been just a regular pickup? (B1600? or whatever)

But yeah now I'm gonna have to check... I only have one really bad tape copy that's half mangled, however a friend has it on DVD (it's our cult movie I stilll want a yellow '73 Mustang Mach 1 with license plates that say... well you know... ) so we're gonna have to check it out. Except that one of his ex girlfriends (long story, LONG long story) took the DVD when she moved out. As i understand it.

"Poltergeist" has a yellow REPU parked across the street from the haunted families house as it "implodes" at the end of the movie.
I think that one of the Nicholas Cage movies, maybe"The Rock" has a blue REPU that is destroyed by an out of control trolly car.
One of the Dirty Harry movies from the early 80's has old inspector Callahan inspecting a murder in a park with a Pea Green REPU parked in the back ground.
I swear I remember a CHIPs episode from when I was a kid that Ponch and Jon were chasing around a guy in a souped up RX3. You know if you look at the traffic in CHIP's you'll see lots of old school rotaies.

The A team and Miami Vice always have great 1st gen cameos.

Here's a good one: In "RAT RACE" (great comedy that came out last summer for those who managed to miss it), hit the slowmo button when the stupid brothers are about to smash into the monster truck arena. What will you see? Hmmm.... Let's see who can do this first . It's a rrrrayce!

The scene is when they are setting up a roadblock right at the Mazda dealer. Even there is a quote on the police radio that they are making a roadblock at " 'someone's' Mazda agency". I don't recall a REPU, but there is a blue regular B-series. In fact, I have it on tape, and if anybody wants to have the original (digitally-remastered) on VHS tape, send a VHS tape and enough cash to allow me to send it back, or a lot of cash to cover shipping and vhs tape(maybe). There is even a podium with a giant white rotor-shaped object and a thing in the middle (crt screen?).

See, and here I thought there was no reason for me to re-watch these movies. Now I'm gonna have to just so I can look for these cool cars

I don't think we're talkin about the Nicholas Cage, 1998, "Gone in 60 Sec."

No, we're talking about Toby Halicki's Gone in 60 Seconds from 1974.

Now that I think about it, I think it was just a regular B series. But I'm positive there were quite a few RX-2's in the showroom.

I saw two FB's in the movies before...

1) Matrix Reloaded- when trinity was riding that motorcycle... then there would be a overhead scene from above the overpass and you will see a brown FB on the fast lane...

2) Die Hard- in the very beginning...
