Rusty Exhaust bracket ?

Rusty Exhaust bracket ?

hi - replacing cat back and hangers, took off bracket and having heck of a time getting bolts out. Soaking with blaster and while I wait thought i would ask if the nuts are welded to brackets or
just rusted to mine. see pic

Yes, the nuts are fixed to the brackets, but the bolts should thread out.

The nuts will have to be heated carefully to avoid melting the exhaust hangers. They're easy to melt. The heated nut will expand, and in doing do will make the bolt easier to remove when using hand tools.

The alternative is using a 3/8 air impact with a 12mm socket and each bolt should come out quickly.

WD-40 Works better than PB Blaster on rusted nuts.

AFT + acetone is supposed to work best
