Hey guys!
I have an '85 GSL that the sunroof opener handle threads broke on, and I have been scouring the internet trying to find anything pointing to anyone else having this issue. A few years back I remember I had been looking and saw a couple used assemblies for around $185.
I have finally sat down and designed a prototype handle to 3D print and have a working prototype that just needs some fine tuning for quality, but I was wondering if anyone else out there is struggling with broken sunroof opener parts for an old FB RX7. And if there's a market for this I would look into polishing up my design and producing more of them potentially.
So on mine, only the handle parts threads broke. I wanted to make it a little fun so I dabbled with the idea of making the handle with a rotary shape.
Here's what I have so far.
I am about to move and unfortunately I think I may have to part with my FB before hand, but I could polish up the design and print more after I move, I just won't have the car.
