Heh, I've actually done it both ways, and both seem to work fine.

Anyone can double (de)clutch.
It takes hours and hours of practice to learn to heel/toe.
Sorry, they are both very similar and both quite difficult to master. The only difference between double clutching and heal/toe is the added difficulty of applying the brakes in heal/toe. And yes, it is more difficult.... Fast clutch foot action and blipping the gas "just right" is an art form. Add a little braking to all that action you got yourself a square dance goin' on. BTW, pedal placement is crucial in order to do a good heal/toe maneuver. Most cars I've driven have aweful pedal placement but the 1st Gen's pedals are darn near perfect for this manuver. If you wanna learn heal/toe we got the right cars for it.

PS - heal/toe is a bad term IMO. Your heal has nothing to do with it. The action is more like "big toe/little toe".

Um, heel toe is the term because you use the heel and the toe of one foot to operate the brake and gas pedal. I don't see how that is a bad term. Just sounds like you are doing it differently.

Hmmm.... I dunno... well.... maybe it's 'cause of my monster size 12 shoe....... I apply brake pressure with my big toe and roll my ankle into the gas pedal to blip the gas with my "pinky" toe. By the time the brakes take hold my foot and pedals are positioned almost perfectly for that little "blip". My heal never gets close to a pedal...... Teva sandals work the best. Oh well.... works quite well for me.
