rpm gauge giving out fake readings
anyone got any ideas wat the problem could be?
its stock 85 12a gauges..
its like -800 to the correct reading..
for example if its really reading at 1000rpm.. it would only have 200 or just above 0..
should i just get an autometre thing?
makes it look ricey

Is it really cold there? If so it could be that the lube on the gears in the tach is frozen or very close to it...mine does the same thing in the morning, but it goes away when the temp goes up

Could be few things. The needle can actually rotate out of place on the shaft causing the reading to be off. There's also a pot in the circuit board for fine tuning the rpm that could be out of adjustment. Lastly, maybe your tacho's rooted?
