Rough idle

I just bought my '85 RX-7 GS, and it seems to have a rough idle. I'm not all that experienced with rotaries, so is this normal? The engine seems to run nice and smooth, but the exhaust sounds rough and jumpy. The muffler is new. Any insight?

Do a search for "shutter valve" and "Pele" you'll find a post by me that includes a picture that should look similar to your air cleaner. My descriptions get repetitive.

Hope that fixes it for ya.
