Rotor Seals?

My mechanic called me today and said, "Well, the engine would be done except you didn't give me any rotor seals." These were not parts listed in my invoice from the rebuild kit (revolution rotary), and i cannot afford to spend any more money on this rebuild. My mechanic is mostly a 13b guy, and says he may be able to reuse my old ones, or try some off of one of his 13b's, but i just wanted to know what the hell he's talking about. He says there should be 8(?) of them and they seal the area around the rotor bearing (not exactly, but that general area). Would somebody clarify for me what these seals do and whether they actually exist on my engine?

They hold the oil in around the stationary gear . oil flows inside the rotor to help keep it cool , if the seal wasnt there you would have oil in the rotor housing and thus no fire

Peace

Theres an inner and outter ring on each side of the rotor.. RR doesnt include the steel parts, but does give you the rubber inserts. BY ALL MEANS replace the rubber parts, you probally be OK with re using the steel one... I got a baggy here with all the oil seals, springs and rubber pieces, but the rubbers are shot. You are welcome to them if you want em

BTW, don't know if i gave u all the rant about the bitch of a time I've had w/ this rebuild. (1) Car dies a month after purchase (i was a rotary virgin and had no idea what to look for). (2) Mike-P28 sells me used engine dirt cheap and ships it nice and promptly (the one thing that HAS gone smoothly, thanks Mike). (3) Recieved rebuild kit, missing 3 apex seals, a bunch of side seals, and a few others (~$150 in parts total). (3) Called RR, was told to call Post Falls Mazda cuz they were the guys who took care of the purchase. (4) Talked to Larry at PFM, he sent missing parts. (5) Recieved box of missing parts A WEEK LATER, to find he had now forgotten another apex seal and 2 side seal springs. (6) Called Larry AGAIN, he apologizes sends apex seal and side seal spring Overnight Express. (7) My mechanic ports the intake and begins to rebuild after nearly a month of sitting on his *** (can't complain, he's doing it for $350 and my totalled integra), and calls me to let me know that i didn't have that O-rings. (8) I read Mike's post to learn that they should, in fact, have sent me the rubber pieces, which they didn't (nor were they included in the invoice).
Oh, well, guess i gotta wait another week for my baby to be back on the road. At this rate, my first ride in this thing with a new motor will be my drive up to Asheville to begin my freshman year at UNC-A.
