Rotaries+7* weather= stranded

well my rotary has left me stranded... good thing its at my work parking lot.. i couldnt get it started even with a jump this time... used starting fluid and all too.. while it was jumped it didnt seem like it was turning very fast... the plugs could use a change so maybe if i put new ones in.. with a jump and some ether i might get lucky... any other ideas? there is no emisssions no rats nest etc... i dont think my car is happy with me taking it away from its warm south carolina home and submitting it to this godforsaken weather of ohio..

What is it doing? Is the engine turning? How fast does it crank?

My problem it that my 7 likes to flood in cold weather. What I do is take out the lead plugs and crank the engine a few times. Clean the plugs and it starts up with in 5 tries (that’s when its between –20 to 25degrees out side).

i hate ohio winters.... this will happen. remove and clean the plugs. re-install them and try pouring a little gas down the carb. or try starting fluid(don't really like using the stuff). hook up the other car to jump and make sure you're getting adequate juice and try again. sometimes you will have to add more gas or stating fluid. this is a process. i've even seen my engine bay filled with snow. the snow blew under the car and started piling in the engine bay. that was a nightmare!!

Did you have any issues with your starter? Did it seem like it was turning slower on warmer days?

just use another car to jump it. that should give you the juice you need. shouldnt feel like its "stuck in the mud" with a jump.

If it seems that it turns slower than normal check your battery. Cold weather and repetitive use will drain the batter faster. Get the battery tested.

If the engine is "turning over quickly" but still not started, it sounds like a flooding issue. Dump about an ounce of Seafoam down the primary barrels and try again...

if its turning over quickly and your getting fire and fuel and its flooding. could be a compression issue . if its sluggish its battery or starter related.

If its that cold I would not drive. We get black ice down here and that means
crunch time.
