hmm, so the update is "After dominating the first 12 hours, the Team RDR Mazda RX-8 has had a rough night. The team saw their seven-lap lead become a 17 lap deficit after a failed kill switch solenoid. Thanks to a five hour stint by Joel Miller, that was reduced to just nine laps before a problem with the differential resulted in another long pitstop. The car is back on track in fourth place, over 20 laps behind third."

the FC was involved in an accident, so its out

there is a 3rd rotary car though, some canadians brought an Rx3...

CHECKERED FLAG ON THE LAST RACE OF 2013. The LONGEST RACE OF 2013. AND THE COLDEST RACE OF 2013. Congratulations to the Mazda Miata racers at Sector Purple Racing and RJ Racing for class wins in E2 and E3. The three Mazda6 SKYACTIV-D Clean Diesels all finished with not even a hiccup from the powertrain (5,000+ miles in 25 hours between the three cars). Congratulations to the Mazda “dealers” for winning the internal race against our “factory” guys. A salute to the Rotek Racing team for taking the overall win. And a special shout-out to everyone at Team RDR for never giving up with the #34 RX-8 which recovered to finish fourth in the E2 class. A complete press release will be posted later this afternoon.

The Little Car Company that could.

Gotta love those rotaries and Skyactiv (I have one of each, plus an MP5).
