I agree with rotrmotr!
Let's get this Buy up and running before it gets lost like alot of other upgrades have in the Past.

I will even be willing to Buy a set of the JSPL or P45F just to get the Ball Rolling and weed out the (Just Lookin Croud).
I would hate to see something that us 4X110 Wheel owners have been seeking forever lost into the Dumpster because of lack of comitment. i.e What If-Can You-Colors.

The List goes on and on all the Time some Great Design gets lost in this Scenario
Lets Rock....
I'll even put up the Cash for the above wheels just to keep the interested commited.

I think I could go with the J.SPL's (black center) as well, but I don't know. Do I really want to spend $500 on wheels?

Or would that money be better spent on a carb and other goodies? hmmmm

But low profile performance tires would make such a difference in handling.

Well, I better make my decision quickly

for all you 15in guys

15 in tires are alot more than 17s or 16s.

On a 7in wide rim,
I suggest 205/40/15
unless you want to go with a little smaller in width look,195/50/15

go price the tires on tirerack

Hey Guys- Spoke with Rota today- good news & bad news:

Good news- all wheels come with center caps-
Bad news- the JSPL is only available in 15x6.5 a 7" wide wheel will take 2 months to make

I got at least 7 PMs for the JSPL mostly with the black/gunmetal center- and some for the full polish- this might be a problem but he (distributor) will try to push it through with the factory.

Hey where are the guys that wanted the GT3 wheels? I got only 2 serious buyers- need 3 more!!!

I am going to find out the offset for our cars in the next two days- will make a mock-up wheel for the front driver side & test different offsets- I DEFINETLY want NO rubbing & now wheels sticking out of the fenders.

The JSPL wheels will definetly be less than $400 a set & at around 11 PoUNDS A WHEEL!!!!

IT'S THE FREEKIN STEAL OF THE CENTURY!!!

I wish I had a blow horn!!- any other wheel with the same specs (except the Kosei) would be twice if not 3 times as expensive!

Once this first order is taken this Monday- the group-buy is not over- if there is another group of 5 guys that can agree on one wheel style- I can place another order.

For the RX-3 & RX-4 guys- I dont know if the same offset wheel for the RX-7 will fit?- If anyone with an RX-3 or RX-4 that is interested & live near NY & is willing to travel to my house- we can test the offset with my mock-up wheel? any suggestions?

P.S.- sorry for the late posts- this is the only "free" time I have- any of you guys that are married know what I am talking about

rotrmotr - you da man. Great job. J.SPL in 15x6.5 - with full polish will work for me! (with the correct offset). I'm ready to pull the trigger on this deal as soon as the offsets locked down.

yes, having both patterns in one wheel would be the best thing to do. that way the wheels would sell reguardless of which pattern u had.

4x100 and 4x114.3 is a big diffrence

4x100 - 4x110 and 4x114.3 is not a big difrence and might cause problems with the holes being to close,NOT to mention the offset will be diffrent for many other cars.

CAN SOMEONE find out if the depth of the wheel is going to change because of the offset?

still in for my set of J.SPLs, this is a great deal and thank you rotrmotr

Have you got some interest in a buy for the 114.3 lug? I could be in on a set of those but definately would want a 0 offset for those.

Let's keep this first group buy of JSPL wheels limited to non-SE's (4 x 110mm x factory offset(+18mm?).

Non-SE's have both different hole pattern and offset requirements than -SE's.

Isn't there a bunch of wheel choices already available for -SE's?

Hey!
I'm in NYC... PM me if you think you can come by to figure this out. I'd come to you but my car is currently apart and not registered.

I also would prefer having only the 4x110 bolt on the wheels not only do I think they'd look better but it would make the wheel stronger at the hub IMHO.

I tried fitting some "plus" style RX-7 wheels on the RX-4 the other day and they got hung up on the hub and didn't seat fully. The RX-4 has a slightly larger hub. Something on the steering also rubbed the rim near the bead. I could get all four lug bolts to thread, but only by a few threads.

Stock tires are 185 80 R13. I figured a larger and wider 15x6.5 rim would prevent rubbing of the steering components. Then of course possible rubbing of the struts becomes an issue.

I don't know how to measure for things like offset etc. What I do know is we want a rim/tire combo that will net a similar circumference to the stock 80 series tires for speedometer accuracy and ride height, not be too heavy, and not rub or stick out beyond the fenders (much).
