What was that truck rated for towing? Is that 1400 lb rating for hauling? If so that's on par with modern 1/2 ton pickups maybe I've got my terms mixed up.

I've towed my 2,000 lb camper before, it does ok all things considered. The camper has electronic brakes though, and without them I wouldn't be able to stop.
