Rims, interior mods, etc.
In an earlier thread we were discussing rims and I mentioned my 16" Enkei RSEs. I posted a blurry night shot of 'em, but here are a few day views. I was pleasantly surprised by how much they update the look of the car while matching the classic styling - a strange oxymoron but it catches the eye of many a 19 year old chick around here...
My center console was scuffed and scratched, and the silver didn't match anything else on the black-over-burgundy car so I had the body shop spray it with the same black metallic and 2 shots of clearcoat to match the body. Whad'ya think?
Here's the interior as it was before the paint job. As you can see by comparison they had to paint the console, the vents, the ashtray cover, the shift surround, and even the a/c & fan *****. Cost me zero as they were painting the bumper anyhow.

they're in reasonable shape for being 19 years old. I made new tops for them where the vinyl had cracked, and the leather is a bit dry, but they should fit no prob (unless someone else knows otherwise)
How's $35 each, including armrests?

Are those rims 4X110 style?????
Thanks for the info and if yes, were did you get them from....

yep, they just bolted right on to the 4x110 pattern. I called a company called Regina Wheel Works - turns out the owner, Gord, is a guy I knew from back in the day (nice coincidence) The rims list for something like $380 (Canuck bucks) but he delivered them to my door -litterally, he hand-carried each boxed rim from the back of his own vehicle that he drove for 250 kilometers to my house - for a total of $1180. (about $790 US)
I had to get a nut set as stock wheel nuts won't fit this type of rim, but that was only $45 and comes with its own tool for removal in case of a flat tire. Less chance the rims will be stolen, too!
Enkei developed the RSEs (formerly called RS Evolutions) to fit this chassis - there are also 4 additional holes of a different offset to fit a Honda should I decide to sell 'em in the future.
The low profile tires (205/50 R16) set me back another $800, but they're Pirelli 7000 ultra high performance tires with - get this - kevlar. The stiffer walls of the low-profile tires and larger rims not only look great, but the car now corners almost as well as an FD!
The one mod I had to do was subtly flare the front fender lips by about an inch to make clearance for the fatter, more square-shouldered tires. I drove without it for the first week and would scuff the outer edge of the tire whenever I hit a large bump.
The body shop was already painting the front end for me anyhow and didn't even charge me for the fender mods - they just pulled the lip around the wheel well out and the soft fender took to it's new shape like it was meant to be there.
