You know, I wish people would stop bitching about what other people want to put on their cars. It is their car, and if they want to add stuff to it then more power to them. You should worry about your own **** and not everyone elses.

If nothing else, these boards are here so that people can voice their opinions. It allows for different ways of thinking--no one is telling you to think a different way or have a different preference. I don't like fart cans. I won't tell you not to put one on your car. I don't like those stupid spinner wheel things. My brother put them on his old '91 Toyota Corolla with a mismatched hood and people actually stopped to laugh. Did he get mad? No. He put them on as a joke. Sadly, people put fart cans on with serious intentions on some not-so-serioius applications, and that's fine for them. I dunno. Just seems pointless.

Yep, it's called debate. I've put forward my opinion on what rice is, and am open to reasoned discussion. Someone stopping in and making general blanket statements about people disliking rice as being stupid or whiners without giving reasons--unless that's what clever emoticons are for now?-- is ignorant and uncouth.

Doubly so given this thread was started from an anti-rice sort of view. It's not as if I'm dropping into a pro-fart can thread and saying, "You're all idiot poseurs". Nor am I organizing late-20s & 30-somethings into vigilante terror gangs, roving suburban mall lots and forcibly R&Ring fart cans with OEM stock.

That's partially true. People can do whatever stupid things they want to their car as long as it isn't illegal or causes irritation to people around them. If people have to roll their windows up because someone's car is so loud that they can't hear themselves think then yes, they have the right to bitch. Someone playing their stereo (rap, heavy metal, hell even country) so loud that it drowns out every other stereo in a four block radius is wrong.

People do stupid things to their cars. What looks cool now will look embarassing in ten years. I remember when curb feelers were the rage. People have the right to put what they want on their cars but others have the right to laugh at them too.

Agreed, although I'd substitute justification for the use (or misuse) or the word "rights". The truly necessary Rights are laid out in the Bill.

Since this is on page 2 and probably not on topic here is my opinion.

Those lights are in EVERY catalog. They were in my RX-7 and my Z catalog. so its not just rx-7s

I once painted chicken feet tracks across my VW beetle beater. Also had a blue and black and silver flame coming out of the gas cap cover.

It was my college car.

I have been a installer for over 12 years now and have installed probably at least 200 of those under car lights. I am going to tell you now it all depends on the car, the color and the owner. Any wrong combination of those three and it usually looks like ****. You cant put green lights on a blue car, you cant put neon on your pinto, and if you dont like neon I wouldn't sell it to you, but maybe since you have such a nice sports car, I can interest you in some radar detectors we currently have on sale(get the picture). I just installed some on a new lowered celica gts, blue with blue lights, it looked nice. I have put them in from brand new corvettes to 65 impalas. One of the main things to remember also is if you do it buy two kits, it looks way better than one set you can almost see them in the day then. If you take pics of them make sure you take water with you and wet down the asphault in a parking lot with no other cars in the pic(and no wal-mart sign either), it will make them look brighter also..

Something also about people and cars that is real funny. We get alot of hot rodders at the shop I worked at last. These guys would come in with like a 57 chevy, fully tubbed, aftermarket gauges, $3500 in wheels and tires, 502 fuel injected engine(sometimes blown with hole in factory hood), gobs of mud under thier $4000 dollar paint and ask how much it would cost to fix thier factory radio from 19 fricken 57. So it just goes to show a person that spends all sorts of cheese on go fast goodies and paint might not give a **** about other aspects of his or her ride.
