Revolution Rotary rebuild/port.

Has anyone ever purchased a rebuilt and ported engine from here?

I just got off the phone with them, and they didnt sound very enthusiastic about talking to me. I'm not sure i want to do business through them.

Thye are a 2 hour drive from my house. Pineapple racing is a 5 hour drive.

The setup i want from revolution is going to be about $3000 installed (i dont have the resources to install it), and prolly about a grand more for pineapple.

What would YOU do?

I'd do pineapple. You hear more good things about there work, and anyone who has poor customer services isn't worth pissing on if they are on fire. If revolution didn't want to talk to you, take your business somewhere else.

I have a Revolutionary Rotary 12a street port and I'm VERY VERY happy with the motor, the build quality is awsome, the port in nice, powerful, and very smooth. The car really flies after the nikki is tuned right. For the money I would highly recommend a revolutionary rotary. They were very quick and friendly too, had the motor within a week and a-half of ordering it. and they have a great warrenty too if anything goes wrong.
that's my praise.

How much horsepower, would you guess?

THey told me there is only such thing as one size streetport. Pineapple racing offers small and large streetporting tho...

everyones streetport is different. My motor was termed as a racing motor and nothing was said about porting until i looked closely and realized mine was a pretty large port job.

Hmm, bought my rebuild from Mazda directly. Was only 1200 USd in '95 (inlcuded new housings too!). Still works fine to this day. I don't know how much they charge, but I found out Kragen's also sells rebuilt rotaries. I don't think either Mazda or Kragens ports them though. My friend bought a rebuilt rotary for 700 bucks back in '94 (where they just replace the seals and certain things) and his still runs today.

If you're not looking necassarily to port it out, I think Mazda still sells the rebuilts for around 2k. (You need to ask around. I found the price for those varies from dealer to dealer and you can negotiate a little). Then you could buy the engine puller and all the other goodies and have some nice tools afterwards.

The rebuild from revolution is $1650 or something. THe porting is 300, upgraded seals and fuel system is another $300.

Well I'm not going to say how much power because I don't know for sure and I'm not going to just throw out numbers.

It's very quick, and I have a feeling it's a pretty extreme street port because of the idle, which is kinda loapy and at 1000rpm, but it's could also be because of the carb.

But the car makes awsome power, great low-end torqe and and great top end power.

a huge improvement over the stock motor to say the least.
