Reverse lights?

well recently after i got my new motor in the car, my friends have said i have no reverse lights? I dont think it can be the bulbs becuz they were working before. Plus i know that there's wires going to the trans and i will be checking those but is there like a sensor in the trans for the reverse?

Yes, the reverse light switch is attached to the side of the trans. As Wacky stated start with the wires.

Reverse Lights

On the Trannie there is 2 Bullet Conectors and maybe more depending on what model.
Green w/Yellow Stripe Plugs into Red w/White Stripe.
That is the Reverse Wiring Conectors. I looked them up for 83-84-85 FSM's.

Other than that failure the old Check the Fuse and wires all the way back there is the next step.
I just posted this info on the ? (Transmission Wiring) question.
