Electrical problem?

The spark plugs were shot last week, so I got new one, well they are used but they are in great shape. When I tried to start it up... the battery slowly dies... car clicks but won't start up. And it is a new battery too. So, I jumped it with my other car... starts up fine... but the voltage is under 12V. When I take it out for a drive... the voltage would go back up to around 12-13. But when I turn on the headlights... it'd go down to around 12, the voltage pointer would jump back and forth with the turn signals on. Before I start driving the car... it'd be under 12 with the headlights on... once I rev then it will raises up and comes back right down. So this morning, I was getting ready and warm up the leave for school. The car didn't start without a jump again, I don't understand why... the battery seems to die after few clicks. I did some research on the forums... it's either the battery, alternator, battery cables. Everything is new except the cables... could it be because of the cables? Oh, and last night after a 10 minute drive... I went to a gas station and pump in a full tank... and it didn't start, I had to get it jumped. It's weird... can anyone please let me what should I look at for this problem? I think I need new cables or better ground for the alternator? It was working all good before I change the spark plugs... it'd start but the voltages still reacts the same as above...

Start with new cables, cable ends (for good ground) and new battery terminals.

I would take that battery out and put in a known good battery and read the voltage output at the battery. It is possible the battery in there is defective.
