TN Resistor Relocation/Removal Starter/Tranny Harness

So after lurking for the last few weeks & gradually getting more involved into the electronic mess the prior owner left under my FB's hood, I've finally gotten around to working on the Engine sub harness (FSM calls it the Engine Wiring Harness) & the Starter/Tranny sub harness (what I'm calling it since it appears to only connect to those components).

I would post pictures but I figure everybody on here knows so much more than I do, so no real reason to upload and circle in paint. Almost every completed engine bay I've been able to peep at on here is clean of any grounds & wiring utilizing the top of the engine block. On my 12a when I received it there was a little bullet connector running to a small canister resistor mounted to the top of my block. It doesn't appear to have been operational for a long time (wire going to it was hanging on only by the sleeve on one side).

I have the engine sub harness out right now for situational awareness as I build one from scratch (due to temperature issues created by the previous owner in the bay melting some Yazaki connectors down on the alternator & connection leading to the right lamp motor, and was wondering if I should go ahead and purchase and prepare to relocate the tiny resistor that looks like it was one a part of the starter/tranny harness? Since the wire & resistor both are so fragile to me it would make since for Mazda to put this as far away from heat & scary mechanical nonsense going on central to the bay (like grounded to the frame).

tl:dr
Any pointers/advise on where I should put this resistor or if I should scrap it all together from the starter/tranny sub harness?

If it's over by the firewall, it's probably the buffer for the oil PSI gauge. If it's over by the distributor, it's to eliminate electrical noise through the system (like in the radio).
