request for a pic

I saw a first gen that was lifted with some big tires on it a while back. I think it might have been yellow.

If anybody has this pic or a pic of another lifted 7 could you either post it or post a link. One of my friends at work doesnt beleive that it can/has been done before.

thanks, chris

C'mon.....
Any redneck or bored hick with an old RX-7 shell and a bare PU truck frame can do that!!!!Its just a matter of bolting the bare shell of the car to the truck's frame.Ive seen it,its been done.I dont have the particular picture you need, but damn near every car concieved has ended up on a lifted 4x4 frame at some point or another....were Americans!!

Now if someone actually lifted an RX-7 with the stock RX-7 suspension points, thatd be some work.....and pretty pointless too, being 2WD and having toothpick sized axles/spindles...

:edit: ...............and there you go!

no i parted it out, i managed to get about 6K total back but i spent alot more then that + all the time i had put into it.

This was my 3rd 7 so i had the hang of things i think. Ive started doing swaps for people around my area. Im working on a TII 88vert right now.

I do live in texas . I just think it would be cool to have. Ive honestly never seen a lifted car in person. I do take my beater/work truck(76 chevy 4x4, 350, 4 in lift, 36in tires) out and go mudding sometimes.

That's one of the things I'd do if I was a millionaire, but ONLY because I need a 7 or rotary powered beast for every occasion.

Summer car (FB), winter beater (FC), track racer (two or three types), 4x4 (of course, I'd make it a rotary), REPU (for carrying things), Cosmo (for long trips), rotary-powered snowmobile, fishing boat, go-kart, ATV, Norton F1 Motorcycle ('cause I can), some sort of rotary-powered chopper

to go along with my rotary lawnmower and the rotary air compressor I use around the shop, and the rotary generator I use when the hydro cuts out,

And odd monsters like my FWD Rotary Honda CRX (with the sidedraft which conveniently enough points straight forward, so I could RAM-Air it).

Did I miss anything?

A rotary powered chopper, we should get like orange county choppers or West coast choppers to build a rotary chopper! Im thinking a decent TII engine with a huge Turbo hanging out the side of it... Anyways im getting pretty off topic, what I find interesting is that someone went to all that effort.

well since im thinking about it i might as well start planning.

can anybody get me a measurement from the center of the front wheel well to the center of the back one? I dont have my 7 anymore or else i would do it myself.

anybody got any suggestions, im in the planning stages and i want to see what is resonable and affordable.

I said that on purpose to try and sound hickish.

I just think it would be cool to have a car that nobody else has. Atleast anybody i know. As i stated before i have never seen a lifted car in person and i think it would be differnent to have one.

does anybody have any measurements for me??

I agree that the second gen doesnt look good. I dont think they look all that good stock either. Thats why i attempted my 84 gsl-se swap in the first place. It is a car that looks better and i lighter.

Not only did i save the pic of the first gen but i took pics of it with my camera phone so that i vcould show anybody/everybody that i know. I am seriuosly considering that as my next project in a couple of months when i get my raise and have some extra cash.
