replacing fuel lines

like the title says, i am replacing my feul lines, but i'm not sure if i can run 3/8 rubber or if i have to get the metal lines. right now i'm running a carter fuel pump and a mallory fpr. i am probably going to give the rubber lines a shot, but i just wanted to know if i might have problems with too much pressure. i'm replacing them becuase i am getting rust in my tank from the return line and i had problems even b4 i had hooked up a return line so i figure i'd just replace them all. any help would be great--thanx

I did 3/8 lines from the tank pickup to the carb ( feed and return) on my 84 gsl. It wasn't to hard to do took about two evenings I used alum tubing routed in the stock locations pics of the modified fuel pickup are on a thread i posted awhile back

Rubber hose is a bad idea and the tubing is cheaper to buy in the long run.

I get my tubing from the local speed/dirt track/ pickup accs shop. rund ne about 18 bucks for a 25" roll. ou can also order it from Summit or Jegs., along with a tibing bender and a new package of fuel line clamps. Remove your old lines ans use them as a ottern to bend up the new lines. While it may sound hard, it's realy quite easy to do.

One trick that you will need to practice is makining the bubble at the end of the lines so the clamps seal the rubber hose. It's not that hard and I can provide pics if needed. Do not use the oem clamps for the lines, they will crush the new aluminum line.
