85 gsl se has no power and smokes

My se will start right up but lacks any power at all. It also smokes white smoke but has good compression. I have a bad smell of fuel. I can hold the gas down and it will slowely rev up but lacks any omph at all.

Welcome to the forum and the Darkside.

did this just happen or did you purchase the 7 in this condition? Smell the exhaust, it it smells sweet like antifreeze, you've probably blown a coolant seal if the smoke is heavy. Remove the radiator can, start the engine and look for 'champagne' bubbles in the coolant. If you have bubbles, rebuild time.

If you have no bubbles, the intake o-rings may have failed, allowing coolant into the combustion chamber. For the lack of power, make sure you have spark on the leading/lower plugs.

In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs and other rotary related info. Download whatever you needs and start reading. Be sure to checks the FAQs at the beginning of our section also.

there is no sweet smell in the exhaust. the exhaust smells heavy of gas. the collant system holds pressure. it almost acts like its flooding out.

are you sure you have good compression?? you may want to investigate the ignition system. make sure you have adequate spark and no arching of the wires, good ignitors, cap, rotor, etc. i have found that the SE's 13B is also very sensitive to having good plugs. next, you may want to consider having your injectors resealed and o-ringed. a god site is http://www.witchhunter.com/

I didn't even notice the SE in your thread tittle. Definitely sounds like it's time to send the injectors out for service.

As others have stated it may be an injector problem.

Also on the Se the coolant temp sensor ofr the ECU may be mal functioning.
Need to verify that you are getting spark to the leading plugs as has been suggested.
