Replacing fuel lines...

Ok guys...Im gonna replace my rubber lines at the tank to the pump and crap and from the firewall to my carb with braided stainless steel or new rubber, havent decided. Maybe rubber under the car, but braided stainless for look under the hood. Anyone know off the top of their head what size Im gonna need? If not, Ill just take some to the store with me, I just thought Id ask first . Thanks.

I don't know the size off hand, but the "in" line is larger than the return line. So take both with you.

Oh yeah, good call man . But, would it really matter if I put the same size on both and just clamped 'em down good?

5/16 main line, 1/4 for the return.

If you do that, use the 1/4 for both and stretch the hell outta it to fit over the 5/16th? inlet. If you use the 5/16th stuff on the 1/4 fittings, it'll be way too lose and will probably leak. Just get the two different sizes, and it'll make your life a lot easier though.

meh, I dunno, I'd just do it right. Not like it's going to cost any more than the 1/4 inch (well, enough to worry about anyways)

On the GSL-SE's the Main Feed line is like a 5/8. I was suprised how thick it was. I was just removing the stock fuel pump to put the Aeromotive pump one in.

Now I know why I was told that I could use the stock SE fuel pick-up. That ****** is just as wide internally as the -10 lines I am running throughout the car.

Silicone Vacuum/Boost Source Hose
Thick wall silicone hose withstands heat much better than the stock rubber hoses.
Plus the pretty colors look dope and impress all the girlies ;-)
For use as boost and vacuum hose, not for pressurized water lines.
OK for coolant overflow and breather hoses. NOT FOR FUEL LINES!!
For discount pricing, mix and match any size and colors for total length.

TJ, thought you were broke?
IIRC yours is a carby car right? DO NOT delete the restrictor in the return line! And use the CORRECT size line. Trying to clamp an oversized hose onto a small fitting will cause a leak. The you wont have to worry about insurance, cause your car will be a charred cinder!

go to action autoparts if you can rotormotordriver... they have all sort s of size of fuel line and good "fuel injection" clamps that pull all the way around the fitting not just on one side. imo you dont need stainless lines, plus if you wanted to do it right your going to need about 200$ in misc fittings etc etc, not to be a ricer
